The Waveform Audio Driver Test is a test of Waveform Audio functionality for audio drivers. The test verifies that the driver can both play and record supported formats through the Waveform Audio application programming interface (API).

The following table shows the hardware requirements for the Waveform Audio Driver Test.

RequirementsDescription
Audio cardAn audio card that is compatible with Microsoft® Windows® CE.

The following table shows the software requirements for the Waveform Audio Driver Test.

RequirementsDescription
Tux.exeTux test harness, which is required for executing the test.
Kato.dllKato logging engine, which is required for logging test data.
Tooltalk.dllApplication required by Tux.exe and Kato.dll. Handles the transport between the target device and the development workstation.
Wavetest.dllTest .dll file.

In order for the Waveform Audio Driver Test to function correctly you must have included the waveform audio component, SYSGEN_AUDIO, as well as an audio driver, BSP_WAVEDEV_[drivername], in your OS build. Some board support packages (BSPs) include an audio driver by default.

Note   When you run the Waveform Audio Driver Test, the CETK temporarily copies files to the root directory of the target device. While the test runs, the test dynamically consumes program memory on the target device. Before running the test, verify that there is at least 0.3 megabytes (MB) of free storage memory on the target device. Also verify that there is at least 1.0 MB of free program memory on the target device. If there is not sufficient space in the root directory of the target device or there is not sufficient program memory, the test cannot run.
