Microsoft® Exchange Server 2003 uses the underlying Microsoft Windows® server operating systems networking foundations: Network Device Interface Services (NDIS), and the TCP/IP stack. Exchange also uses the remote procedure call (RPC) interface for communicating with MAPI clients.
