Distributed COM

Use the Distributed COM capability when you want to gain access to an object on a remote system. The DCOM (Distributed Component Object Model) component connects to the other computer, executes the service or application, and then returns values to the local computer. For example, select the DCOM component to communicate between local and WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) components.

You can use the Find feature to search for the Distributed COM capability.

There are no properties to set for components under the Distributed COM capability.

**Note   **The DCOM component consists of a set of replacement and additional DLLs and some utilities, which provide both local and remote COM capabilities.
