PasswordBox Sample

This sample demonstrates the basic features and functionality of the PasswordBox class.

This sample enables the user to:

  • Select the masking character from a pre-determined list of characters.

  • Specify a maximum password length of 6 to 255 characters, or to specify no limit at all.

  • Enter text into a scratch TextBox, and use the Copy From button to place the text on the system clipboard. Use this with the Paste Into button to paste into the PasswordBox using the Paste method.

  • Clear the contents of the PasswordBox by clicking the Clear button (which calls the Clear method).

  • View the number of times the password contained by the PasswordBox has changed (corresponding to each time the PasswordChanged event fires).

This sample demonstrates a specific feature of the Windows Presentation Foundation and, consequently, does not follow application development best practices.
