Programming with Visual J++

Note  Indexing Service is no longer supported as of Windows XP and is unavailable for use as of Windows 8. Instead, use Windows Search for client side search and Microsoft Search Server Express for server side search.

Visual J++ is Microsoft's implementation of the Java language. It can build console or Windows applications to manage and query Indexing Service. This section discusses several aspects of using Visual J++ with Indexing Service and includes code examples that use the ActiveX Data Objects API. The topics include the following.
