Sets or retrieves the name of a window or frame that is the target for navigation.

Possible Values

sTarget String that specifies or receives one or more of the following values.
Name of the frame or window.
Linked document loads into the same window as the link.
Linked document loads into the topmost window.

The property is read/write. The property has no default value.


This property is case-sensitive.

The TARGET attribute is exposed to objects participating in the anchorClick behavior.


This example uses the TARGET attribute and the anchorClick behavior to specify the name of a window or frame.

   SPAN {behavior:url(#default#AnchorClick);}

     The href points to folder.htm for earlier browser versions,
     the FOLDER attribute points to the local root.
