Software Requirements

The following software is required to write SMTP protocol and transport event sinks:

  • Microsoft Windows 2000
  • Microsoft SMTP Service for Windows 2000, part of Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS Version 5.0)
  • C++ or C compiler such as Microsoft Visual C++ Version 6.0

In order to debug sink components, you should have access to a Microsoft Windows 2000 test machine that is not part of a production environment. Testing event sinks on production machines is not recommended.
