As in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, Web content management (WCM) in Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 uses a template-based page rendering system. Much of this page rendering system, such as master pages functionality, is now a part of Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010. This section provides an overview of concepts related to the page model, including an overview of master pages, field controls, the page processing model, and caching.
