_LetterContent.RecipientGender Property 

Returns or sets the recipient's gender, if known. Not used in the U.S. English version of Microsoft Word.

Remarks

The RecipientGender property can be one of the WdSalutationGender constants. This property may not be available to you, depending on the language support (U.S. English, for example) that you’ve selected or installed.

Any public static (Shared in Visual Basic) members of this type are thread safe. Any instance members are not guaranteed to be thread safe.
