How to: Uninstall an Application-Tier Server

You might want to uninstall an application-tier server for many reasons. Unlike Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server, in Team System 2008 Team Foundation Server you do not install and uninstall the Team Foundation application tier separately from the data tier. Uninstalling Team Foundation Server is integrated on the Team Foundation application-tier server.

Note

Uninstalling Team Foundation Server on the application-tier server does not remove user data or delete the Team Foundation databases. However, the database files are detached from SQL Server.

Required Permissions

To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Administrators group on the Team Foundation application-tier server. For more information about permissions, see Team Foundation Server Permissions.
