How to: Repair a Data-Tier Server

If an installation of your data-tier server becomes corrupted, you may have to repair the installation. In this topic, you will learn how to repair a data-tier server installation.

Required Permissions

To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Administrators group on the Team Foundation data-tier server and a member of the Team Foundation Administrators group. For more information about permissions, see Team Foundation Server Permissions.

To repair a data-tier server

  1. On the Team Foundation data-tier server, click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Add or Remove Programs.

    The Add or Remove Programs window opens.

  2. Select Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server (databases) and then click Change/Remove.

    The Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server (databases) Setup wizard opens.

  3. In the wizard, select Repair or Reinstall, click Next, and follow the wizard instructions.
