Required Components Missing
SQL Server Express 2005 or later is required to successfully run projects that include SQL Server Express database files, including Starter Kit projects. When SQL Server Express is not detected, the project cannot access the data in the database. You can continue to develop your application, but running and debugging your application will cause run-time failures when the application attempts to access the database.
In addition, Express editions of Visual Studio do not support connecting to remote database servers. A remote database is a database that is not a local file in your project, even if the server is on the local machine. In practical terms, this means you can only use SQL Server Express or Microsoft Access .mdb files with the Express editions of Visual Studio.
