Property Value

The InstanceDatabaseOptions object for the instance database.

Remarks

Updated text:5 December 2005

Updated sample code:5 December 2005

Each InstanceDatabaseLogFile has a parent InstanceDatabaseOptions. You typically supply the parent object when you create the InstanceDatabaseLogFile using the InstanceDatabaseLogFile(InstanceDatabaseOptions,String) constructor.

If you set the parent in the constructor, do not set the parent using this property. Setting the parent twice throws an exception.

Example

The following examples show how to set the Parent property when using the default constructor:

// Create log file and set properties.
InstanceDatabaseLogFile idb_log = new InstanceDatabaseLogFile();

// Required properties.
idb_log.Name = "MyInst_LogFile1";
idb_log.Parent = idb;
idb_log.FileName = @"C:\NS\Default\MyInst_LogFile1.ldf";

// Optional properties.
idb_log.InitialSize = "3MB";
idb_log.MaxSize = "10MB";
idb_log.GrowthIncrement = "10%";

// Add the log file.
idb.InstanceDatabaseLogFiles.Add(idb_log);
' Create log file and set properties.
Dim idb_log As InstanceDatabaseLogFile = _
    New InstanceDatabaseLogFile()

' Required properties.
idb_log.Name = "MyInst_LogFile1"
idb_log.Parent = idb
idb_log.FileName = "C:\NS\Default\MyInst_LogFile1.ldf"

' Optional properties.
idb_log.InitialSize = "3MB"
idb_log.MaxSize = "10MB"
idb_log.GrowthIncrement = "10%"

' Add the log file.
idb.InstanceDatabaseLogFiles.Add(idb_log)
