How to: Assign Work Items

Note

This topic is based on the work item transitions available in the bug work item for MSF for Agile Software Development. If your project is using a different methodology, your work item states might be different. MSF for Agile Software Development is one of the process guidance templates that are included with Team Foundation. For more information, see Finding and Using Process Guidance.

You assign a work item to a person when you need that person to supply information or do work that moves the work item closer to being completed.

Required Permissions

To perform these procedures, you must be a member of the Contributors group or have the View work items in this node, and Edit work items in this node permissions set to Allow. For more information, see Team Foundation Server Permissions.
