How to: Move Logical Servers on Logical Datacenter Diagrams

Use the following procedure to move logical servers in and out of zones on a logical datacenter diagram.

To move a logical server to a zone

  1. Select the logical server(s) you want to move.

  2. Right-click, choose Move To Zone, and select the destination zone.

    – or –

    Drag the logical server(s) to the destination zone.

    Connections between servers in the selection are maintained, but any connections from the selected servers to servers or zones outside of the selection are removed.

To move a logical server from a zone or to the diagram surface

  1. Select the logical server(s) you want to remove.

  2. Right-click and choose Remove From Zone.

    – or –

    Drag the selected servers to the diagram surface.

    If you use the Remove From Zone command, the selected servers are moved from the zone containing them to the next zone above that, or if there is no other containing zone, then to the diagram surface. Any connections outside of the selection are removed.
