How to: Set Permissions for a Report

You can control which users and groups can read or change the team reports listed under the Reports node in Team Explorer and on the team project site in SQL Server Reporting Services. The permissions set for each report listed in either location are configured in SQL Server Reporting Services.

Contact your Team Foundation Server administrator or your team project administrator to make sure that your user account has the permissions described in the following section.

Required Permissions

To set permissions for a report, you must be a member of the SQL Server Reporting Services Content Managers role. For more information, see Team Foundation Server Permissions.

To set the permissions on a report

  1. In Team Explorer, click the team project name node.

  2. On the Team menu, click Show Report Site.

  3. In Report Manager, click the report for which you want to set the permissions.

  4. Click the Properties tab, and then click Security.

  5. Click Edit Item Security.

  6. For the group or user you want to set permissions, click Edit.

  7. On the Edit Role Assignment page, select or clear the appropriate permissions, and then click Apply. For more information about how to set permissions, click Help.
