XmlSchemaValidator.ValidateElement Method

Definition

Validates the element in the current context.

Overloads

ValidateElement(String, String, XmlSchemaInfo)

Validates the element in the current context.

ValidateElement(String, String, XmlSchemaInfo, String, String, String, String)

Validates the element in the current context with the xsi:Type, xsi:Nil, xsi:SchemaLocation, and xsi:NoNamespaceSchemaLocation attribute values specified.

ValidateElement(String, String, XmlSchemaInfo)

Validates the element in the current context.

public:
 void ValidateElement(System::String ^ localName, System::String ^ namespaceUri, System::Xml::Schema::XmlSchemaInfo ^ schemaInfo);
public void ValidateElement (string localName, string namespaceUri, System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchemaInfo? schemaInfo);
public void ValidateElement (string localName, string namespaceUri, System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchemaInfo schemaInfo);
member this.ValidateElement : string * string * System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchemaInfo -> unit
Public Sub ValidateElement (localName As String, namespaceUri As String, schemaInfo As XmlSchemaInfo)

Parameters

localName
String

The local name of the element to validate.

namespaceUri
String

The namespace URI of the element to validate.

schemaInfo
XmlSchemaInfo

An XmlSchemaInfo object whose properties are set on successful validation of the element's name. This parameter can be null.

Exceptions

The element's name is not valid in the current context.

The ValidateElement method was not called in the correct sequence. For example, the ValidateElement method is called after calling ValidateAttribute.

Examples

The following example validates the contosoBooks.xml file against the contosoBooks.xsd schema. The example uses the XmlSerializer class to deserialize the contosoBooks.xml file and pass the value of the nodes to the methods of the XmlSchemaValidator class.
