SortedList.ContainsValue Method

Determines whether the SortedList contains a specific value.

Namespace: System.Collections.Generic
Assembly: System (in system.dll)

public bool ContainsValue (
	TValue value
public boolean ContainsValue (
	TValue value
public function ContainsValue (
	value : TValue
) : boolean
Not applicable.

The value to locate in the SortedList. The value can be a null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic) for reference types.

Return Value

true if the SortedList contains an element with the specified value; otherwise, false.

This method determines equality using the default comparer Comparer.Default for the value type TValue. Comparer.Default checks whether the value type TValue implements System.IComparable and uses that implementation, if available. If not, Comparer.Default checks whether the value type TValue implements System.IComparable. If the value type TValue does not implement either interface, this method uses System.Object.Equals.

This method performs a linear search; therefore, the average execution time is proportional to Count. That is, this method is an O(n) operation, where n is Count.
