_IUccPublicationEvent.OnPublish Method

This content is no longer actively maintained. It is provided as is, for anyone who may still be using these technologies, with no warranties or claims of accuracy with regard to the most recent product version or service release.

Raised when the server finishes processing a Publish request.

Namespace: Microsoft.Office.Interop.UccApi
Assembly: Microsoft.Office.Interop.UccApi (in microsoft.office.interop.uccapi.dll)

void OnPublish (
	IUccPublication pPublication,
	IUccOperationProgressEvent pPublicationEventInfo
void OnPublish (
	IUccPublication pPublication,
	IUccOperationProgressEvent pPublicationEventInfo
function OnPublish (
	pPublication : IUccPublication,
	pPublicationEventInfo : IUccOperationProgressEvent

A value of the IUccPublication* (IUccPublication, for a .NET application) type. This specifies the publication object with which the Publish request is made.

A value of the IUccOperationProgressEvent* (IUccOperationProgressEvent, for a .NET application) type. This presents the status of completion for the operation.

An application must catch this event to determine the status of completion of a Publish request. This event signals the completion of the publication operation. The publication object cannot be used for further operations and should be disposed here. Further publication operations must be made with new publication objects.

Win32 COM/C++ Syntax

   IUccPublication* pPublication,
   IUccOperationProgressEvent* pPublicationEventInfo
In a Win32 application, the return value of a method or property is always an HRESULT value indicating the status of the call to the interface member. Any result of the operation is returned as a parameter marked with the [out, retval] attribute. In contrast, in a .NET application the HRESULT value indicating an error condition is returned as a COM exception and the [out, retval] parameter becomes the return value. For the UCC API-defined HRESULT values, see Trace and Handle Errors in Unified Communications Client API .

The following example handles the OnPublish event. The client un-advises for publication events on the publication and the publication object reference is set to null. For .NET applications, the "garbage collector" destroys the publication object as the publication object has no more references in running code.

void _IUccPublicationEvent.OnPublish(IUccPublication publication,
                    IUccOperationProgressEvent status)
    UCC_Unadvise<_IuccPublicationEvent>(publication, this);
    publication = null;
