onMessageRendered Method

Current information about Live Connect is now available in the Windows Live Developer Center. The information in the following sections is provided for legacy purposes only.

Provides a callback that will be automatically invoked when the UI controls need to render an application message, or when an application invokes the createTextElement(ApplicationMessage) method.

Script:  http://js.live.net/4.1/loader.js
Feature:  Messenger.Core
Namespace:  Microsoft.Live.Messenger.Messaging

Type: Microsoft.Live.Messenger.Messaging..::.ApplicationMessageRenderedCallback
The callback to register.

An application may provide a callback that will be automatically invoked when an application message is being rendered by the UI controls, if the value returned by createTextElement()()() is null. Providing a callback is functionally the same as inheriting from the ApplicationMessage class and overriding the createTextElement()()() method.

The callback will also be invoked when an application uses the createTextElement(ApplicationMessage) method.

At most one callback can be defined. If a new callback is provided, the old callback will no longer be used. A value of null can be used to unregister any callback.
