ISchedulerJob.NodeGroups Property

Retrieves or sets the names of the node groups that specify the nodes on which the job can run.

Namespace: Microsoft.Hpc.Scheduler
Assembly: Microsoft.Hpc.Scheduler (in Microsoft.Hpc.Scheduler.dll)

'Usage
Dim instance As ISchedulerJob
Dim value As IStringCollection

value = instance.NodeGroups

instance.NodeGroups = value

IStringCollection NodeGroups { get; set; }
/** @property */
IStringCollection get_NodeGroups ()

/** @property */
void set_NodeGroups (IStringCollection value)

function get NodeGroups () : IStringCollection

function set NodeGroups (value : IStringCollection)

Property Value

An IStringCollection interface that contains a collection of node group names.

A node group is typically created to identify a group of nodes with a similar characteristic. For example, nodes that contain a specific software license. You can then use this property to identify the nodes instead of having to specify each node using the RequestedNodes property.

If you specify multiple node groups, the resulting node list is based on the value of the NodeGroupOp property. For example if group A contains nodes 1, 2, 3, and 4 and group B contains nodes 3, 4, 5, and 6, the resulting list would be.

Uniform

The scheduler checks if sufficient resources are in nodes 1, 2, 3, and 4, and if so, uses only those nodes. If not, the scheduler checks if sufficient resources are in nodes 3, 4, 5, and 6, and uses them if they are sufficient. If that also fails, then the job remains queued.

If you also specify nodes in the RequestedNodes property, the list of nodes on which the job may run is the intersection of the requested node list and the resulting node group list.
