MaximumNumberOfNodes Property

ISchedulerJob.MaximumNumberOfNodes Property

Retrieves or sets the maximum number of nodes that the scheduler may allocate for the job.

Namespace: Microsoft.Hpc.Scheduler
Assembly: Microsoft.Hpc.Scheduler (in Microsoft.Hpc.Scheduler.dll)

'Usage
Dim instance As ISchedulerJob
Dim value As Integer

value = instance.MaximumNumberOfNodes

instance.MaximumNumberOfNodes = value

int MaximumNumberOfNodes { get; set; }
/** @property */
int get_MaximumNumberOfNodes ()

/** @property */
void set_MaximumNumberOfNodes (int value)

function get MaximumNumberOfNodes () : int

function set MaximumNumberOfNodes (value : int)

Property Value

The maximum number of nodes.

Set this property if the UnitType job property is Node.

If you set this property, you must set AutoCalculateMax to false; otherwise, the maximum number of nodes that you specified will be ignored.

The Default job template sets the default value to 1.

This property tells the scheduler that the job requires at most n nodes to run (the scheduler will not allocate more than this number of nodes for the job).

The job can run when its minimum resource requirements are met. The scheduler may allocate up to the maximum specified resource limit for the job. The scheduler will allocate more resources to the job or release resources if the CanGrow or CanShrink properties are set to true; otherwise, the job uses the initial allocation for its lifetime.

The value cannot:

  • Exceed the number of nodes in the cluster or the number of nodes that you requested (with the RequestedNodes property).

  • Be less than the value of the MinimumNumberOfNodes job property.
