Maintain Catalogs (Standard 8)
7/8/2014
Review how to manage your Windows Embedded 8 Standard (Standard 8) catalogs.
Windows Embedded 8 Standard (Standard 8) catalogs can be maintained by importing modules to a catalog and rebuilding the catalog’s index. If you are creating custom modules, you do have the option of adding your custom module to your catalog from within Module Designer (MOD) when the module is created, rather than as a separate step.
Standard 8 has two catalogs: one for developing images to be deployed on devices with 32-bit architectures and another for developing images to be deployed on devices with 64-bit architectures. The default location of the catalogs is %systemdrive%\Windows Embedded Catalog
In This Section

- Import a Module into a Catalog using Catalog Manager
Modules can be imported into a catalog using Catalog Manager (Catman.exe).
- Rebuild a Catalog Index using Catalog Manager
If a catalog’s index becomes corrupted or otherwise compromised, the catalog indexed can be rebuilt using Catman.exe.
