Statistics

Design statistics pages when you want to give the user a quick overview of status, performance, or trends with regard to a specific business entity or event. Compared to printed reports, statistics pages are useful as an immediate and real-time reporting measure. Common statistics pages primarily show calculated data, so fields are usually not editable.

Statistics page guidelines

From the user’s perspective, the following are qualities of a well-designed statistics page:

  • Has a page title that clearly identifies the context for the statistical information presented in the page.

  • Brings together and organizes into FastTabs the key figures and calculated data relevant to understand status, performance, or trend.

  • Is optimized for giving good overview without requiring any user interaction.

  • Does not include FactBoxes but presents all its information in the page’s content area.
