Make more room for the animation timeline

Blend for Visual Studio 2012 comes with two predefined workspaces: the Design workspace and the Animation workspace. The Design workspace emphasizes design. The Animation workspace moves the Objects and Timeline panel under the artboard to provide more room to display the timeline. Alternatively, you could move the Objects and Timeline panel yourself.

To make more room for the animation timeline

  • Do one of the following:

    • On the Window menu, point to Workspaces, and then click Animation.

    • Drag the Objects and Timeline tab until your pointer is over the bottom border of the artboard, the bottom border of the workspace, or an existing panel group. A blue line appears when you have reached a docking area, and a gray highlight appears to show you where your panel will dock. Release your mouse button to dock the panel under the artboard.

    • Drag the Objects and Timeline tab until it is moved outside of the Blend workspace.
