Create pinned sites and live tiles using Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 8.1.

Note  Live tiles are only available with IE11 in the Windows 8.1 Start screen. To create pinned sites for the desktop, see pinned sites developer documentation.

 

When you create a live tile for the Start screen, you need to set up a static tile and the live tile.

You set an image for a static tile using either a meta tag or an XML browser config file. You can also create live tiles using templates that overlay tiles with notifications from the website. Use this info to create pinned sites and live tiles for your users.
