MenuItem.Dispose Method (Boolean)

The .NET API Reference documentation has a new home. Visit the .NET API Browser on to see the new experience.

Use BaseTrue

Disposes of the resources (other than memory) used by the MenuItem.

Namespace:   System.Windows.Forms
Assembly:  System.Windows.Forms (in System.Windows.Forms.dll)

protected override void Dispose(
	bool disposing

Type: System.Boolean

true to release both managed and unmanaged resources; false to release only unmanaged resources.

Call Dispose when you are finished using the MenuItem. The Dispose method leaves the MenuItem in an unusable state. After calling Dispose, you must release all references to the MenuItem so the memory it was occupying can be reclaimed by garbage collection.

Always call Dispose before you release your last reference to the MenuItem. Otherwise, the resources the MenuItem is using will not be freed until garbage collection calls the MenuItem object's destructor.
