Public Shared Function ToUInt16 ( _
	value As Integer _
) As UShort

Parameters

value
Type: System.Int32

The 32-bit signed integer to convert.

Return Value

Type: System.UInt16
A 16-bit unsigned integer that is equivalent to value.

ExceptionCondition
OverflowException

value is less than zero or greater than UInt16.MaxValue.

The following example converts each element in an integer array to an unsigned 16-bit integer.

Dim numbers() As Integer = { Int32.MinValue, -1, 0, 121, 340, Int32.MaxValue }
Dim result As UShort

For Each number As Integer In numbers
   Try
      result = Convert.ToUInt16(number)
      Console.WriteLine("Converted the {0} value '{1}' to the {2} value {3}.", _
                        number.GetType().Name, number, _
                        result.GetType().Name, result)
   Catch e As OverflowException
      Console.WriteLine("The {0} value {1} is outside the range of the UInt16 type.", _
                        number.GetType().Name, number)
   End Try
Next
' The example displays the following output:
' The Int32 value -2147483648 is outside the range of the UInt16 type.
' The Int32 value -1 is outside the range of the UInt16 type.
'    Converted the Int32 value '0' to the UInt16 value 0.
'    Converted the Int32 value '121' to the UInt16 value 121.
'    Converted the Int32 value '340' to the UInt16 value 340.
' The Int32 value 2147483647 is outside the range of the UInt16 type.
