Glossary Item Box

Starting Point: Open the Windows Event Viewer

Depending on the operating system, access the Windows Event Viewer as follows:

  • Windows 7 or Vista:
  1. Click Start.
  2. In the Search programs and files text box, type eventvwr.msc and press the Enter key.
  • Windows XP or Windows Server:
  1. Click Start > Run...
  2. In the dialog, type eventvwr.msc in the text box.
  3. Click OK.

Viewing the PreEmptive Event Log

  1. In the tree view to the left, expand Applications and Services Logs.
  2. Click PreEmptive.

Errors occurring in the Endpoint Services will have a value of PreEmptiveAnalytics in the Source column of the Event Viewer.

Errors occurring in the Aggregator Service will have a value of Aggregator in the Source column of the Event Viewer.
