NameExtensions.NameFor(Of TModel, TProperty) Method

Gets the full HTML field name for the object that is represented by the expression.

The type of the model.

TProperty

The type of the property.

The HTML helper instance that this method extends.

expression
Type: System.Linq.Expressions.Expression(Of Func(Of TModel, TProperty))

An expression that identifies the object that contains the name.

Return Value

Type: System.Web.Mvc.MvcHtmlString
The full HTML field name for the object that is represented by the expression.

Usage Note

In Visual Basic and C#, you can call this method as an instance method on any object of type HtmlHelper(Of TModel). When you use instance method syntax to call this method, omit the first parameter.
