Upgrading Build, Deploy, and Test Workflow Definitions from Visual Studio 2010

Note

This topic applies to Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2012 with Visual Studio 2012 or Visual Studio 2010.

The build, deploy, and test workflow definitions for lab environments that were created on Visual Studio 2010 are not compatible with Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2012. If you are using lab environments, and you upgrade your Team Foundation Server to Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2012, you need to upgrade your build, deploy, and test workflow definitions. This topic contains information about upgrading build, deploy, and test workflow definitions after you upgrade to Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2012.

Note

If you are using Visual Studio 2012 and Team Foundation Server 2010, you do not need to upgrade your build, deploy, and test workflow definitions.

To upgrade your build, deploy, and test workflow definitions for your lab environments, you must change your lab workflow template from LabDefaultTemplate.xaml to LabDefaultTemplate.11.xaml. The following procedure describes how to upgrade your lab workflow templates for built-in build, deploy, and test workflow definitions.

To upgrade a lab workflow definition that is not customized
