How to: Run a Coded Web Performance Test

After you create a coded Web performance test, it is a good practice to run it and verify that it works correctly.

Requirements

  • Visual Studio Ultimate

To run a coded Web performance test

  1. Open a coded Web performance test.

    Your Web performance test opens in the Writing Code in the Code and Text Editor.

    For more information about how to create a coded Web performance test, see How to: Create a Coded Web Performance Test.

  2. In the Code and Test Editor, open the shortcut menu and then choose either Run Coded Web Test or Debug Coded Web Test.

    With the coded Web performance test selected in the code editor, from the LOAD TEST menu, choose Run, and then choose Select Test.

    Caution note Caution

    Selecting the coded Web performance test in Solution Explorer and using the LOAD TEST menu to run the selected test will run all the tests.

  3. The coded Web performance test runs and the results begin to display in the Web Performance Test Results Viewer. For more information, see Web Performance Test Results Viewer Overview and Examining Web Performance Test Results Using the Web Performance Test Results Viewer.

  4. In the Web Performance Results Viewer, you can run your coded Web performance test again by choosing the Choose here to run again link on the embedded status bar.

    Tip Tip

    Before you run your test again, you can also modify the number of iterations, network type, or browser type through the run settings. For more information, see How to: Change the Web Performance Test Run Settings in the Web Performance Result Viewer.
