This package is a Feature Pack in the category Embedded Enabling Features. The name of the package as it appears on disk and for use with some command-line tools is WinEmb-EnhancedWriteFilterManagementTool-Package.

This package provides a tool to monitor and configure Enhanced Write Filter with HORM. By default, the tool starts on system start and registers a notification area icon, but you can modify the settings to suppress the automatic start. You can start the tool with a command-line parameter to open either the overview dialog box or (for users with administrative credentials) the configuration dialog box. If you start the tool with a command-line parameter, the tool closes when you close the respective dialog box.

Notes

If the tool has registered a notification area icon, when you hover over the icon a tooltip appears that lists the protected volumes. If a command is pending for a volume, it is listed also. For more detailed information about the enhanced write filter configuration, double-click the icon or right-click and select Status to open the overview dialog box. Users with administrative credentials can open the configuration dialog box by right-clicking and selecting Configure.
