Yin Zhu received the BS degree from the Department of Computer Science and Technology, Nanjing University, China, in 2009. He is now a Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He has spent more than one and a half years at Microsoft Research Asia as a research intern. His research area is data mining and activity recognition, he is also interested in theoretical computer science and programming languages. He has publications in top CS conferences such as AAAI and ACMMM.

Yin is active in the F# community, and focuses on the numerical applications in F# especially using F# for data mining. He has a blog: F# and Data Mining. He is also the maintainer of following F# open source projects: F# Math Provider and WeakSharp.
