Install SQL Server 2008 Express
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express can be used to create a new, or use an existing, SQL monitoring store, SQL persistence store, or SQL configuration store for the Caching Service. If you install Visual Studio 2010, you do not have to install SQL Server 2008 Express separately. SQL Server 2008 Express is not needed if a higher edition has already been installed. SQL Server Express can be installed either locally or on a remote computer. SQL Server is not a requirement to install Microsoft AppFabric 1.1 for Windows Server.
To install SQL Server Express, go to Microsoft SQL Server Express (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=177674), download the SQL Server Express installation program, and run the setup wizard. You can also install SQL Server Express as a component of Microsoft Visual Studio 2010.
Note
SQL Server 2005 is not supported in installations of AppFabric.
