Gen. Prod. Posting Group Field, Item Journal Line Table
Specifies the code of the general product posting group that will be used for this item when you post the entry on the item journal line.
The program automatically retrieves the code from the Gen. Prod. Posting Group field on the item card when the Item No. field on the journal line is filled in, provided that the Gen. Prod. Posting Group field is specified for the specific item.
To see the general product posting group codes that are available, choose the field.
The program uses the general product posting group code together with the Gen. Bus. Posting Group code in the General Posting Setup table. Here the combination of the two codes specifies which G/L accounts the program will use in connection with COGS and inventory adjustments for the item on this journal line.
