How to: Fill In and Post Fixed Asset General Ledger Journals

The information that you enter in a journal is temporary and can be changed as long as it is still in the journal. When you post the journal, the information is transferred to entries in individual accounts.

To fill in and post FA G/L journals

  1. In the Search box, enter FA G/L Journals, and then choose the related link.

  2. Fill in the fields.

  3. On the Actions tab, choose Post to post the entries.

  4. If any errors are found, you will receive a message. You must correct all errors, and then on the Actions tab, choose Post to post again.

If you have selected the Force Doc. Balance field in the General Journal Templates window, Microsoft Dynamics NAV will also check if the journal balances for each document number.

If you have created multiple journal batches, you can choose to post several or all of them with a single command instead of posting them individually.

Important

If you have selected the Use Duplication List field, do not use number series on the journal. Leave the Document No. field empty if the number series for FA G/L journal will not match the number series for the FA journal.
