TextWriter.WriteLineAsync Method (Char)

Writes a character followed by a line terminator asynchronously to the text string or stream.

Parameters

value
Type: System.Char

The character to write to the text stream.

Return Value

Type: System.Threading.Tasks.Task
A task that represents the asynchronous write operation.

ExceptionCondition
ObjectDisposedException

The text writer is disposed.

InvalidOperationException

The text writer is currently in use by a previous write operation.

The line terminator is defined by the CoreNewLine field.

The TextWriter class is an abstract class. Therefore, you do not instantiate it in your code. For an example of using the WriteLineAsync method, see the StreamWriter.WriteLineAsync method.

NoteNote

The HostProtectionAttribute attribute applied to this type or member has the following Resources property value: ExternalThreading. The HostProtectionAttribute does not affect desktop applications (which are typically started by double-clicking an icon, typing a command, or entering a URL in a browser).
