HttpClient::SendAsync Method (HttpRequestMessage)

Sends an HTTP request as an asynchronous operation.

Task<HttpResponseMessage^>^ SendAsync(
	HttpRequestMessage^ request
)

Parameters

request
Type: System.Net.Http::HttpRequestMessage
The HTTP request message to send.

Return Value

Type: System.Threading.Tasks::Task<HttpResponseMessage>
The task object representing the asynchronous operation.

This operation will not block. The returned task object will complete once the entire response including content is read.
