Devices, Device Tools, Options Dialog Box

Provides controls for changing the configuration settings for device projects.

To display this dialog box, click Options on the Tools menu, click Device Tools, and then click Devices.

Show devices for platform
Lists all installed platforms, including those that are unavailable for the active project. If a device project is open, its platform is automatically selected.

Selecting All Platforms displays a list of all installed devices.
Devices
Select the device you want to configure from the list of installed devices for the platform selected in the Show devices for platform box. If a device project is open, its device is automatically selected.
Default device
Sets the default deployment target from among the devices available for the platform selected in the Show devices for platform box. The control is unavailable if All Platforms has been selected. Changes to the default are persisted for all new projects but do not affect a currently active project.
Save As
Opens the Save Device As dialog box where you can create a copy of the device selected in the Devices box.
Rename
Changes the name of the device selected in the Devices box.
Delete
Deletes the device selected in the Devices box.

If the Delete button is unavailable, the selected device cannot be removed. A device cannot be removed if it
- Was installed with the product;
- Is the default device for a platform; or
- Has been selected as the target device in a currently open project.
Properties
Opens the Device Properties dialog box for the device selected in the Devices box.
