Copy a map shortcut to another document
You can create a shortcut to a map and paste it in another document. When you activate the shortcut, it becomes a hyperlink. When you click the hyperlink, MapPoint opens the map for which the shortcut was created.
-
Open the map to which you want to create a shortcut.
-
On the Edit menu, click Copy Shortcut.
-
Open a document in another program, and place the cursor in that document where you want to insert the shortcut.
-
Paste the shortcut into the document as a hyperlink.
To paste in many Windows-based programs, either press CTRL+V or click Paste on the Edit menu. You may have to type a space or press ENTER at the end of the hyperlink to activate it.
Note If you send a document that contains a map shortcut to someone else, the recipient must have MapPoint installed and have access to the map file for the shortcut to work.
