Add a group of pushpins as stops on your route

  1. On the Legend and overview pane, click the name of the pushpin set that you want to add to your route.

    Select an area on the map

    Do one of the following:

    • On the map, right-click and drag an area surrounding the individual pushpins you want as stops on your route.

    • Use the Freeform Gg674706.ALLFreeform(en-us,MSDN.10).jpg, Rectangle Gg674706.ALLRectangle(en-us,MSDN.10).jpg, Oval Gg674706.ALLOval(en-us,MSDN.10).jpg, or Radius Gg674706.ALLRadius(en-us,MSDN.10).jpg tools to draw around the pushpins you want as stops on your route, and then select the shape by clicking its border.

    • Create a drivetime zone of a desired length of time, and then select the zone by clicking its border.

  2. On the Route menu, point to Route, and then click Add pushpins as stops.

    Note   The pushpins are added as new intermediate stops on your route and do not replace the existing start or end points. If you want to make one of the new stops the start or end point of your route, change the order of the stops in the Route planner.

  3. On the Route menu, point to Route, and then click Get directions to establish your route on the map and calculate driving directions.

    Tip   You can have MapPoint reorder the stops so that the travel time between the start and end points on your route is the most time–efficient. On the Route menu, click Optimize stops.
