See the address, phone number and maps for a business
MapPoint provides a number of ways for you to access basic information about a business or organization, such as its address, phone number, and location on the map.
To see the address, phone number and maps for a business or an organization
-
In the Find box in the upper-left corner of the screen, type the name of the business or organization (or category of businesses or organizations) that interests you. For example, to search for museums in Washington, D.C., type museum, washington, d.c. Then, either press ENTER, or click the binoculars to the right of the Find box to start the search.
-
In the first Find dialog box that appears, select the place name in the list, and then click OK.
-
In the next Find dialog box, click the name of the museum that interests you, and then click OK; or, with Businesses selected, click OK.
The Search results pane appears, containing the address and phone number of the museum.
When you select an item in the Search results pane, an information balloon appears on the map, pointing to the business or organization you selected. You can also find the address and phone number of that business or organization in the information balloon.
Note If you don’t see the balloon, right-click the icon for that business or organization on the map, and then click Show information.
-
In the Search results pane, click the name of a museum.
If your computer is connected to the Internet, a new window opens in your Internet browser, containing the most current Web links and information about that museum. If your computer is not connected to the Internet, additional information about the museum appears within the MapPoint program.
