2.2.3.105 Model

The Model element is an optional child element of the Set element in Settings command requests that specifies a name that generally describes the device of the client. The Model element value can be up to 1024 characters in length.

The descriptive name of the device can be any string that the client chooses, typically a general description of the device. For example, the name of the manufacturer, the model name, or the model number can be used. The server does not perform any validation of this string, so the client can submit any string.

Protocol Versions

The following table specifies the protocol versions that support this element. The client indicates the protocol version being used by setting either the MS-ASProtocolVersion header, as specified in [MS-ASHTTP] section 2.2.1.1.2.4, or the Protocol version field, as specified in [MS-ASHTTP] section 2.2.1.1.1.1, in the request.
