The Converged Traffic test runs the Disk Stress test against the storage array attached to the Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) adapter while simultaneously running NTttcp to stress network traffic through the same FCoE adapter. For additional NTttcp details, consult the NTttcp whitepaper available from Windows Hardware Developer Central (WHDC). For Disk Stress details, please see Disk Stress.

Run time: 8 hours

Log file: DiskIO.wtl and Ntttcps.txt

System restart required: No

Test category: Storage Adapter or Controller

Supported operating systems for logo or signature testing:

  • Windows 7

  • Windows Server 2008 R2

  • Windows Vista

  • Windows Server 2008

  • Windows Server 2003

Program: Diskio.exe and Ntttcp.exe

Requirements

Software Requirements

The test tool requires the following software:

  • Supported operating system (see list above)

  • Software components included with the device that is being tested

Hardware Requirements

The test tool requires the following hardware:

  • Two FCoE adapters to be tested

  • Two computers that meet the minimum software requirements

  • Fibre Channel (FC) storage array with a minimum of 20 GB available

Processor

  • x86

  • x64

Running Boot Test

To schedule the Converged Traffic test in Driver Test Manager (DTM), you must first select a secondary machine to be the receiver of network I/O. You must then right-click the job and click Edit Parameters to configure the ReceiverIPAddress. The ReceiverIPAddress should correspond to an FCoE network port on the secondary machine. It should also be reachable from the primary test machine via a network port on the same FCoE adapter that has a storage array attached.
