Upgrade Your Code from Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 to Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011
Much of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 is backward compatible with Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 and for the most part, applications that use legacy APIs and endpoints will continue to work. New features have been added and significant improvements have been made in existing code. This section contains information that you need to know to upgrade your code to the latest version. If you have existing customers that use your custom code, you will also need to migrate your customers to your new solutions. For more information about development for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, see the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 SDK.
For example, in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 you used aspx pages and embedded JScript. Your new solution will be implemented using Web resources. For more information, see Package and Distribute Extensions.
