Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015 and Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online provide a powerful business application platform that delivers to customers, Microsoft Partners, and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) an opportunity to extend and provide value added solutions. These solutions build on top of the robust core platform capabilities included with Microsoft Dynamics CRM. By using these capabilities, you can build customized solutions without having to custom build the foundation. Microsoft Dynamics CRM continues the evolution of platform features with the addition of the xRM initiative. Platform backward compatibility helps make sure that investments made with earlier versions migrate forward to the Microsoft Dynamics CRM upgrade.
Microsoft Dynamics CRM supports three types of deployments:
Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015 on-premises deployment
Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015 Internet-facing deployment (IFD)
Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online
For each of these types of deployments, you have the choice of client application you use to access Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Alternatively, you can create your own client application on top of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM platform. The following clients are provided:
Microsoft Dynamics CRM Web client
Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook
Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Microsoft Office Outlook with Offline Access
Microsoft Dynamics CRM for phones
Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online is kept up to date for you. For on-premises and IFD deployments, keep Microsoft Dynamics CRM current by installing the latest updates and hotfixes automatically from Microsoft Update. You can also search for “CRM updates” on the Microsoft Download Center.
