A File entry represents a photo or video file under a particular top-level folder or a subfolder.

The first ID identifies the album entry; the second ID identifies the file entry.

The following properties are supported in a File entry.

EditMediaLink

A link to the photo or other media file; used for editing the content of the file. A GET request retrieves the image data so that you can edit the image by using a graphics tool. You then use a PUT request to upload the edited image data.

The value is "Photos/Albums/<CID>!<ID>/Files/Content/<Filename>".

FileContentLink

A link to the image file stored on Windows Live. A GET request retrieves the current photo content directly from Windows Live; the image is displayed in a new browser window.

MediaContent:FileSize

Properties that define the dimensions and attributes of the media content:

  • Height, Width and Size (for photos).
  • Height, Width, Size, and Type (for videos).

Properties associated with the thumbnail. There will be as many Thumbnail:BaseUri properties as there are thumbnails.

All of the properties that are associated with Thumbnail:BaseUri are rendered as attributes:Height, Width, Size, MaxHeight, MaxWidth and ID. ID is same as the rel type for the link; for example, thumbnail_800X600.

Thumbnail:Length

The size, in bytes, of the thumbnail image.

Thumbnail:Uri

The URL to the thumbnail. There can be more than one of these properties. For photos, each one has the thumbnail size embedded in the rel type;for example, link rel = “thumbnail_800X600”. This property is also used as an ID for the Media:Thumbnail property. Other values can be Thumbnail_600X450, Thumbnail_320X320, Thumbnail_176X176, Thumbnail_96X96, Thumbnail_48X48, Thumbnail_213X213C, Thumbnail_104X104C, and Thumbnail_48X48C.

"C" in the preceding values indicates that the thumbnail has been cropped.

Type

The type of media file: Photo or Video.

A link to the page on which the media resides on Windows Live.

WhenTaken

The date and time when the photo was taken. This property is specific to photos; it is not used for videos.
