Working with the OAuth WRAP Handler
|Current information about Live Connect is now available in the Windows Live Developer Center. The information in the following sections is provided for legacy purposes only.|
The OAuth WRAP handler processes the consent data that is returned from Windows Live when a user consents to let an application access that user's Windows Live data. The handler creates cookies that make the access token that is returned by Windows Live available to the client program. The application can in turn use the token to request user data.
The handler's information flow can be summarized as follows:
The handler receives the verification token that is returned by Windows Live.
The handler requests an access token and a refresh token from Windows Live.
When the handler receives the tokens, it creates session cookies that contain the token data. Note that because these cookies are session cookies, they are erased once the browser session ends.
The client program can retrieve the access token and refresh token from the session cookies.
