Traditional Chinese Font Files (Compact 7)

Windows Embedded Compact supports both Western and East Asian fonts and locales. Windows Embedded Compact is based on a Unicode standard and includes National/Regional Language Support (NLS) to help you create localized software. These font files are included in your Windows Embedded Compact 7 installation as described below.
Traditional Chinese font files tend to take up a large amount of memory. To accommodate the size of font files that your OS can handle, Windows Embedded Compact provides fonts with different content and sizes. In addition, the font files are available in both compressed format (*.ac3 files) and non-compressed formats (*.ttc files).

AC3 font compression is not supported in Microsoft Silverlight for Windows Embedded applications. For Silverlight for Windows Embedded applications, either disable AC3 font compression in the OS Design, or embed and use non-compressed font files (.ttf or .ttc) in the application. The *.ttc versions of the font files are the same as the Windows 7 versions of the font files and contain the same characters.
Note
The different versions of a font have been given unique names; however, you must change the file name to the standard font file name before you can use it in a run-time image. For example, you must change Mingliu_2_90.ttc to Mingliu.ttc.
Character selection for a font is based on character ranges that use formats that correspond to national/regional standards or code pages. For point sizes not defined in the files, the rasterizer uses the TrueType outline data for that glyph.
To include support for a font, add the associated catalog item to your OS. For more information, see Fonts Catalog Items and Sysgen Variables.
The following font versions are included in the %_WINCEROOT%\Public\Common\Oak\Files directory.
